3 Months Old

Sorry I’ve been MIA lately in the blog world.  Life with a 3 month old cutie and returning to my full-time job, as well as being a wife and a dog mom has kept me mighty busy!   Although it can be exhausting, life is good!

This month’s highlights include staring at our toes, starting and loving daycare, cooing, reaching and grabbing at toys and her love for cartoons!

I’m no longer ‘tip-toeing’ around the word colic, because good gravy this gal is COLICKY!  NO relief for the weary, she still cries a lot.  From what I’ve gathered, the majority of the time there is nothing wrong other than she’s just darn picky and finicky and wants to be held 24/7.  Just like her Momma and Dad, she knows what she wants and is very vocal about it.  I’m a very particular person and it seems like I may have created a ‘mini-me’, UGH!   Although to be on the safe-side, we are still exhausting all of the Google search options, lately we’ve tried the chiropractor, it doesn’t seem to be making a difference unfortunately.   I use to shush Aaron when he said the word colic, like ‘shhh.. don’t say that, we have this under control!”  But let’s get real, we never have.  So I’m no longer in denial and have been asking around and getting all the advice we can get, but we’ve done it all, sounds like we just have to out-grow this.  Most grow out of colic by 4 months but I’ve heard a few horror stories that say it can go till 6 months… NoNoNOOOO!!  This mama is ready for some happier days ahead!

Photo shoot is over Mom!
That being said, there are a fair share of happy moments though.  The smiles are certainly contagious and heartwarming.  Our interest in this world around us is so cute!  When she does something new, it’s pretty darn cool in my book.  And being held all the time isn’t all that bad, when she grabs me finger and grasps on tightly, it’s too hard to pull away from that, I just sit there and soak up that little face of hers!  Those moments are too precious.  And on occasion, she likes to sit and chat with me, that is the funnest so far!  When she sits there and just goos and gahs, then I talk back and she talks back to me, I love those little conversations.

Outfit change doesn't lighten the mood much

BUT Mickey Mouse certainly does!
One thing she’s discovered this month is cartoons.  Loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  As soon as I realized that, I DVR’d about every episode on because right now we need anything and everything that makes her content for more than 10 minutes at a time!  Set her up in the Rock N’ Play in front of the TV and give her the burp cloth because for whatever reason, that burp cloth is a lot of fun to play with and it allows about 30 minutes of freedom to get stuff done around the house.
THAT sweet face! Gets me every.single. time.
Going back to work has gone pretty well overall.  She adjusted to daycare very well.  Although she already has caught her first cold, in which I got too so we both are finally shaking that off.  Luckily the cold got me worse than it did her.  All the babies in her daycare room had colds at the same time, I’m sure this is only the first of many.  I do like her teachers in her room, overall I’m pretty happy with our choice in daycare.

She’s still sleeping very very well!  From 9 pm to 6:30 am, rarely does she wake up during the night.  I say that is our saving grace, if we had both colic and no sleep, we’d be losing our minds right now.  Thank goodness for sleep!  She is quite the eater, puts down 30 oz a day, we recently increased her volume and kinda wondering if we need to yet again.  The girl can eat and she chugs her bottle!
Annie, you are a one-of-a-kind that’s for sure and Mom and Dad do love you to pieces!  Can’t wait to see what month 4 brings, it’s a lot of fun to watch her grow and experience all the new things in this little life of hers!

I’ll try my best to not fall off the blogging world for another month but cut me a little slack in the meantime J
