Charley Hyde's First Day!

Hi!  My name is Charley and I want to tell you about my first day as a Hyde!

That car ride home sure was fun!  I got to sit on mom's lap.

What I really liked to do was crawl up mom's arm and fall asleep on her shoulder

Wow, that sure was a long car ride for me!  I got to my new home and found some food waiting for me, I sure was hungry!

This place is different....  I have new toys and mom keeps taking my picture

Hi Mom! Okay I'm starting to get settled in now!

Time to play!

Sure do like carrying my ball around in my mouth, mom thinks it's cute

All that playing tuckered me out!  This toy sure does make a good pillow

Does mom want to play or cuddle?  I'm confused!

Dad held me while we went to my first Vet appointment!

But I really was tired and just slept thru it

I weigh in at 4.2 lbs!  I'm very healthy too!

  That appointment wore me out!

 It's tough being this cute

I sure do like crawling under the coffee table

I found a new place that I like but mom doesn't like it because she can't keep an eye on me from here

Oh mom... she tucked me in so I would sleep better.  She doesn't know this yet but I'm going to pee on that blanket later today!

 Sure do love to play!

What a great day!

Puppy Hyde

We have a big day this Sunday, we are bringing our puppy home! I hope we have everything we need and are good to go, her bed and toys are set up in the living room awaiting her arrival; we’re very excited! We are attending a new dog orientation tonight and we already have her first vet appointment set up for Sunday afternoon.

We decided on her name as well! Our top two names were Lucy and Charlee/Charley. After a few days of contemplating, it all boiled down to that we thought she looked more like a Charley/Charlee. Then we had to decide how we wanted to spell it and since I didn’t have a preference, Aaron made the decision she is Charley.

If I get a chance on Sunday, I’ll try to post Charley’s grand arrival home!

My Floofball!

Well, we have some exciting news!!!  After a year of planning, many discussions, disagreements, and
trying to figure out what is best for Aaron and I, we are ready to be parents!!!  We are going to have a little baby puppy that is!!!  :) :) :)

It took what felt like a long time to get to this point.  After getting married, we've discussed off and on about getting a dog.  A lot of what always held us back was being able to make time for a pup as well as agreeing on a breed.  Aaron wanted a golden retriever.  I on the other hand, wanted more of what I like to call a 'floofball'.  After numerous visits to adoption days at pet stores, shelter visits, online searches, and stopping random strangers to ask them what their dog is, we came across the golden doodle, which is a cross between a golden retriever and standard poodle.  The perfect combo of what we were looking for, Aaron gets his golden retriever qualities and I get my floofball! Plus we've heard/read nothing but great things about this breed of dogs.

After researching a golden doodle breeder in northern Iowa and getting a personal recommendation to this place, we decided to visit.  Well, we fell in love, just like I thought we would.  We decided on a 6 week old female.  She will be ready to pick up in a few weeks.  AND WE CAN'T TO WAIT TAKE HER HOME!

Now, Aaron and I just need to agree on a name.  We have 2 top names right now.  We like them both equally so right now we just need to sleep on it some more.  But her name will be revealed soon!

Here's Puppy Hyde!!!!

Our little girl!!!

Her face is so gosh darn cute!

My little floofball!

She loved being held, didn't squirm out of our hands at all

These pups are really calm!

How can you even say no at this point?!?!

Giving us the puppy eyes

So cute to watch them all roll over each other

I'm a happy mom already

This is my favorite pic, look how snuggled in she is!  She's a snuggler!

Aaron loves her too!

Baby Shower Fun!

This past weekend I hosted a baby shower for my sister-in-law Chantal.  My 2 year old niece Adalyn is going to have a little baby sister, Aniston, due in October.  Since they live in the Waterloo area, I held the shower at the Cedar Valley Arboretum and it worked out perfectly!  The weather was low 70s and turned out to be a beautiful day!

My first time making a diaper cake, turned out pretty good
